How To Speak French? C’est amusant!

I am a strong proponent of learning to speak French, especially if you live here.  My language learning took years, with many starts and stops along the way, as described in the book, “Solitary Desire.”  As a former teacher of French, I can attest that foreign language learning is an ongoing process – with progress mainly through practice, practice, and more practice.

C’est en forgeant que l’on devient forgeron!    (practice makes perfect)

But really, does it truly become perfect??  Je crois que non !

I find this video amusing and very entertaining!  What’s your take?

Had a good chuckle – at least I am able to say I only speak a little French and please speak slowly I am not French, the first things I learned!

  2. Feliciations – The basics are a good start – thanks for commenting.

  3. Thanks for sharing this video – we got a laughing fit. But seriously, sometimes this steps are the only way to survive when you have not enough words.

  4. As they say, actions speak louder than words 🙂

[French equivalent of ROFL] Hilarious! I’m fairly proficient in French, and my daughter (who lived in France for several years) is really fluent, so we soeak French together quite often– a great opportunity for me to pratiquer, non?

Gastronomy and cursing– the international languages. ; )

Absolutely hilarious! And so so true lol . Glad to know even a teacher of french has the same ‘petite’ problems. I’ve been learning on and off for years (a degree and all!) and just yesterday at a french conversation catch up, the simplest of words just would not come to me…so so frustrating! I’m going to use the ‘swearing’ for my fallback from now on! 😉

  8. Very funny! When we came for a holiday we learnt enough to ask for the essentials but I really wish we had learnt more, the experience would have been so much richer.

  9. The essentials are, well…essential for a good start to a fulfilling travel experience – felicitations and thanks for commenting!
